Telephone Service Technician

​​​​The person we hire...
  • Will be asked to run voice and data cabling, help with the installation of telephone and surveillance systems.  A basic understanding of troubleshooting phone and data connections is a plus.
  • As this person becomes more experienced, they will be trained on the systems we offer so they can run service tickets, make routine changes to our customer’s phone systems and troubleshoot any service issues that may arise.
  • We do not expect this individual to be familiar with these systems from the start.  We will train the right person.
  • They will be expected to represent TSIowa in a professional manner.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record and be able to drive a company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with our customers and represent TSIowa.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision; but still recognize when they should contact their Supervisor for assistance.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

We are looking for someone who we would want to do business with if we were working with our company. This person will be professional, polite and patient with our customers. 

Physical and Work Requirements:
  • Ability to work with small components and differentiate between different sizes/colors of wires and cabling.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, including: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers in the installation of telephone and surveillance systems.
  • Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching and twisting.
  • Ability to adhere to safety regulations and company policies when climbing ladders and operating specialized equipment.
  • Ability to perform the job from high places, such as ladders and lifts.
  • Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladders (approx. 24 ft high and 50+ pounds)
